FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
▪️ What makes IotaMetrix different from traditional optical systems?
Our system enables real-time nanometric analysis without labels or sample preparation, using photon reallocation and proprietary optics. Unlike SEM or AFM, it is non-destructive, rapid, and compatible with transparent materials.
▪️ What is the resolution and acquisition speed?
We achieve up to 90 nm resolution with acquisition speeds of 1 image (60 μm field) up to 1 KHz seconds, depending on configuration and lens.
▪️ Is the system customizable?
Yes. It supports interchangeable objective lenses, allowing flexibility in resolution, depth of field, and field of view.
▪️ What materials can be analyzed?
Our system works with glass, silicon, polymers, biochips, live cells, and nanomaterials, including transparent and semi-transparent substrates.
▪️ Can your system be used in an industrial environment?
Yes. Our technology is designed to be compatible with both benchtop use and industrial integration. While the current version (iX01) is optimized for laboratory and pilot applications, we are actively developing an in-line version capable of acquisitions at 2 cm/s, tailored for continuous production environments.
▪️ Is the system available for purchase?
Yes, the system is available for early users. However, we are currently in a pre-commercialization phase, and we prioritize industrial demonstrations and pilot deployments.

▪️ What is the scientific basis of your technology?
Our system is based on photon reassignment, a core principle of image scanning microscopy (ISM). While ISM is traditionally applied to fluorescence imaging, we adapted this method to work without any labeling or fluorescence.
This innovation allows us to achieve sub-100 nm resolution in reflective and transparent samples — label-free, fast, and non-destructive.
Our approach has been validated in several peer-reviewed publications:
